Living at Aku Lodge
The central location of our guest house in Boroko and its own facilities mean you can live very pleasantly during your stay here.
The Boroko stores and business centre are a few minutes walk away. Destinations include the Stop & Shop Supermarket, Brian Bell complex (jewellery and gift stores), and the BSP and Westpac banks.
To move around to other locations, there is limited availability of seats in our minibus (ask at reception, groups preferred), taxis are readily available (a few taxis have meters, in most cases, you should negotiate the fare before entering the cab), and there is a PMV bus interchange.
As we said in the introduction, we encourage a family and community atmosphere with respect for everyone among both our staff and guests. To this end, we have some simple rules to provide the best living environment for the mini-community in our guest house. These include:
     * No alcohol on the premises
     * No smoking
     * No chewing buai (betel nut).
And, of course, we encourage guests not to play music, etc., so loudly that it disturbs other guests.
The Lodge is open every day from early morning to midnight when we lock the gate for security.
The restaurant is open every day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Guests are welcome to invite others to join them for a meal. Soft drinks, tea, and coffee may be purchased with food.
